Toronto accountants and remote tax filing

Tax Accountant in Toronto: File Your Taxes Online

We help Toronto residents and businesses file their taxes online: you send your slips, we prepare the return, you review and approve it, and we e-file it with the CRA, with no trip required. If you would rather meet an accountant, our Head Office is on Danforth Avenue in Toronto. The City of Toronto bills its own property tax and regulates short-term rentals, and both affect what many owners need to keep track of.

Toronto Property Tax, Short-Term Rentals and City Hall Services

What to know, from the official pages named on each card. We last checked them on October 29, 2026.

Toronto property tax: two bills and a choice of instalments

The City of Toronto sends an interim property tax bill in January and a final bill in May. In 2026 the interim instalments were due March 2, April 1 and May 1, and the final instalments July 2, August 4 and September 1. The dates change each year, so use the ones printed on your bill. The City also offers pre-authorized payment plans with two, six or eleven instalments, and the eleven-instalment plan spreads the payments from February to December.

Renting out your Toronto home short term: register and collect MAT

Toronto allows short-term rentals only in your principal residence, and you must register with the City before you list. Renting a whole home is capped at 180 nights a year, renting up to three bedrooms has no night limit, and the City-issued registration number must appear on every listing. Operators also collect a 6% Municipal Accommodation Tax on stays of less than 28 consecutive days, remit it each quarter within 30 days of the quarter's end and file a report every period, even with no rentals. The income you earn also belongs on your income tax return, and we can help you report it.

Counter services run Monday to Friday, mostly from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and some, such as zoning inquiries and marriage licences, are by appointment, so check before you go.
