Orangeville Property Tax, Restaurant Licences and Business Licences

What to know, from the official pages named on each card. We last checked them on October 30, 2026.

Orangeville property tax: interim and final bills, and a monthly penalty

The Town's tax schedule has interim bills in February and April and final bills in July and October, and its page tells you to refer to your tax bill for the specific due dates. A penalty is chargeable on the first day of default and on the first day of each month after that, at a rate of 1.25% per month. The Town points out that not receiving a bill does not excuse an owner from penalty or interest charges. It offers a variety of ways to pay, set out on its payment options page, so check your bill and pay a few days ahead of the due date.

Restaurant licences in Orangeville expire on September 30

You need a restaurant licence to operate a restaurant or eating establishment in the Town of Orangeville, and every licence expires on the 30th day of September, so it is renewed each year. Depending on your application, inspections and approvals may be required by Orangeville Fire, the Public Health Unit and the Building and Planning Divisions. You apply, or renew, online or by printing the form and handing it in at Town Hall on Broadway, with the restaurant's name and location, the owner's contact details, the articles of incorporation and a certificate of insurance. We can help you keep a restaurant's books and file its returns.

Other business licences and permits in Orangeville

Besides restaurants, the Town issues licences and permits for boulevard cafes, mobile food and refreshment vehicles, fireworks, lotteries, pet shops, pianos on public property, signs, vehicles for hire, and tow truck drivers, towing operators and vehicle storage yards. To operate in Ontario you must also register through the Ontario Business Registry, and the Orangeville and Area Small Business Enterprise Centre offers support, including with licence renewals. We can help you work out which registrations and licences your business needs and keep its books.
