Tax Accountant in Innisfil: File Your Taxes Online

Innisfil clients can file with us online: you send your slips, we prepare the return, you review and approve it, and we e-file it with the CRA, with no office visit. We do not have an office in Innisfil; you can meet us at our Eglinton Branch in Scarborough if you prefer. The Town of Innisfil bills property tax in two final instalments, treats short-term rentals as bed and breakfasts with firm limits, and licenses food trucks, so this page sets out the points that matter to owners.

Innisfil Property Tax, Short-Term Rentals and Food Truck Licences

What to know, from the official pages named on each card. We last checked them on October 30, 2026.

Innisfil property tax: two final instalments and a monthly charge

The Town mailed its 2026 final tax bills in May. The first instalment was due on June 29, 2026 and the second on September 28, 2026. A late payment penalty of 1.25% a month applies to the unpaid balance on the first business day of every month until the arrears are paid. Payments are applied to penalty and interest first, and then to the oldest tax amount outstanding. The Town offers three pre-authorized plans: a monthly plan, a due date plan and an arrears plan for properties that are behind on their taxes.

Short-term rentals in Innisfil are treated as bed and breakfasts

The Town counts a short-term rental as a bed and breakfast when it is rented for fewer than 28 consecutive days and advertised on a booking platform. The owner must live in the home, a bed and breakfast can have no more than three guest rooms, guest rooms cannot have kitchen facilities, and employees are limited to housekeeping or food preparation help. Bed and breakfasts are permitted only in certain areas of Innisfil, set out in the Zoning By-law and the Community Planning Permit System By-law, so not every residential property qualifies. Where neighbours are disturbed, both owners and guests may be ticketed or taken to court. Rental income also belongs on your tax return, and we can help you report it.

Food trucks in Innisfil need a business licence, and the number is capped

Food trucks, which the Town defines to include refreshment vehicles, trailers, ice cream carts and hot dog stands, must hold a business licence to operate in Innisfil. The Town permits a maximum of 25 food trucks at any given time, not counting trucks at special events, and adds further applicants to a waitlist. An application needs fully dimensioned site drawings of the proposed location, proof of insurance, the owner's authorization, and compliance with Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit and Innisfil Fire Department requirements. If you run a food business, we can help you keep its books and file its returns.
