Barrie property tax: four instalments, with a charge that cannot be waived
Barrie's 2026 interim instalments were due on February 27 and April 30, and the final instalments on June 30 and September 29. The interim bill is issued each January, and the final bill each May, often reaching mailboxes in early June. The City charges 1.25% a month, calculated on the first day of each month that payment is delayed, and says interest and penalty fees cannot be waived. Payments must be received by the City by the due date. The City offers pre-authorized withdrawals through a monthly plan, a due date plan and, for accounts with arrears, an arrears plan, and people on these plans do not receive an interim bill.
