Tax Accountant in Bradford: File Your Taxes Online

Bradford clients can file with us online: you send your slips, we prepare the return, you review and approve it, and we e-file it with the CRA, with no office visit. We do not have an office in Bradford; you can meet us at our Eglinton Branch in Scarborough if you prefer. The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury bills property tax in four instalments, requires accessory dwelling units to be registered and licenses a short list of businesses, so this page sets out the points that matter to owners and landlords.

Bradford Property Tax, Accessory Dwelling Units and Business Licences

What to know, from the official pages named on each card. We last checked them on October 30, 2026.

Bradford West Gwillimbury property tax: 1.25% a month on late instalments

The Town charges penalty and interest at 1.25% per month, added to each instalment past due on the first day of each calendar month until it is paid in full, and it applies payments first to penalties and then to the oldest taxes. Mailed payments count on the day the Town receives them, not the day you sent them. The Town posts its calendar of instalment dates on its property tax page: the 2027 calendar lists interim instalments on February 25 and April 28 and final instalments on June 28 and September 28, all subject to by-law approval. You can pay by pre-authorized debit, with a due date plan or a 10-month plan, by online or telephone banking, by cheque, in person or by credit card.

Accessory dwelling units in Bradford West Gwillimbury must be registered

The Town's Zoning By-law 2010-050 permits accessory dwelling units in most residential zones, including R1-1 to R1-4, R2-1, R4 and ER. A unit built on or before July 14, 1994 is registered by showing evidence that it existed, such as a tenancy agreement, sworn affidavit, utility bill, insurance certificate, tax records or MLS listing, and by passing Fire, Electrical Safety Authority and Property Standards inspections. A new unit needs a zoning compliance form plus either a Change of Use form or a building permit application, and a building inspection after any renovations. Registration with Community Planning takes about two to three weeks. If you rent a unit out, the rent is taxable income, and we can help you report it.

Business licences in Bradford West Gwillimbury cover a short list

The Town licenses adult entertainment, donation bins, hawkers and peddlers, kennels, liquor sales, refreshment vehicles and taxicabs. Its page says that if the business you are interested in is not on that list, you do not require a licence from the Town. Questions about licensing go to the Town's business licensing email address. Provincial and federal registrations, such as GST/HST, are separate from any Town licence, and we can help you decide what your business needs and keep its books.

The Town registers accessory dwelling units. An existing unit needs evidence it was in place on or before July 14, 1994 plus fire, electrical and property standards inspections, and a new unit needs a zoning compliance form and a change of use or building permit application.

Only if it is on the Town's list: adult entertainment, donation bins, hawkers and peddlers, kennels, liquor sales, refreshment vehicles or taxicabs. If your business is not listed, no Town licence is required.
